Fling This and That Guides

This hub is the map of every Fling This and That tutorial on the wiki. The game does not hold your hand. You spawn on a 30-player island with a Grab Line, a pocket full of nothing, and a lot of furniture that wants to become a projectile. The pages below turn that first hour into a loop: learn inputs, print coins, then pick a specialty — combat, building, flight, or badge hunting.

Start here if you just joined

1. Getting started — join settings, first pallet, first shop visit, and what not to buy.
2. Controls — PC, mobile, and the graphics toggles that stop older phones from melting.
3. How to get money — incinerator packing, ATM landmarks, and why tiny servers print more bags.

Read those three before you duel anyone with Farther Reach. Range looks like skill until you understand momentum.

Combat and movement

How to fling covers grab timing, throw versus drop, pallet knock-ons, and how to survive a grab without the Escape Faster pass. How to fly is the Wright Brothers path: pallets, rockets, boats, and staying airborne long enough for the Airborne badge.

If you came from Fling Things and People, muscle memory mostly transfers, but FTAT’s map is larger, grab delay on mobile is more noticeable, and you can buy extra reach with coins instead of only Robux. That last point is why a dedicated farmer can catch a passer who never opened the shop.

Building and exploration

How to build explains plot ranks (Owner, Co-Owner, Member, Requester), the Item Builder, and why plots block grabs. Map guide lists the named regions we can confirm: Jef’s Jumble, Familiar Fields, Sand Scorch, factory island, Wild West, green groves spawn, mountain incinerator, plus community secret spots such as BondIce and the foggy-lake stairs.

Take a screenshot of ATM locations on your first tour. You will walk that loop every time the incinerator is contested.

Collection goals

Badges walks Wright Brothers, Indiana Jones (refrigerator), Oppenheimer (large missile), Airborne, Super Secret Base, Backroom, Loose Rock, Player is Ready (VR), 9th Planet (max snowball), and Toy Collector. Win rates range from casual (Wright Brothers sits around three-quarters of players) to brutal (Toy Collector and Super Secret Base sit near 0.1%).

Pair badges with the toys tier list so you are not buying 236 items in random order. The coin planner turns those prices into a spend order.

Review, secrets, nuke, and the original game

Review is the install-or-not page: visits, mobile lag, no codes, who should play. Secret places splits badge rooms from community caves like BondIce. How to get the nuke is a private-server shop toy, not Oppenheimer. FTAT vs FTAP is the filter so you stop reading slot-machine guides for the wrong place ID.

How these guides stay honest

Brickified still patches the island. Incinerator counts in private servers have flipped between one and three. Upgrades were reported at launch, then players claimed some were removed. When a mechanic is community-reported rather than posted by the studio, the page says so. We do not invent YouTube videos; each tutorial that has a clip uses a real FTAT video in the middle of the article, not a stack of unrelated FTAP VODs at the bottom.

Cross-check patch claims on the changelog and treat codes as empty until a string is verified. Script pages live under scripts if you insist on anti-grab tools — they are not required to enjoy the sandbox, and they can cost the account.

Suggested weekend plan

Hour 1: controls + incinerator + Wright Brothers. Hour 2: shop reach if you have 1,000 coins, then fling practice on dummies (pallets, chairs) before players. Hour 3: one plot build or one hard badge (Indiana Jones or Oppenheimer). Whenever you get bored: walk the map and pin a new ATM.

That is the whole game, stretched across a bigger island than the original: fling, fight, build, explore, scavenge. Use the guides as a toolbox, not a speedrun script. The fun is still yeeting a friend into purple juice on a flying pallet — you just do it with coins in your pocket.
